Amazing body

Nope, not mine - not even close.

I have a good 40 pounds to drop before I will feel amazing and honestly, if I could just loose 30 - I will be ECSTATIC.

I marvel at the human form. Other than God and Michelangelo I don't know anyone who understands it better. I can't believe that my little weak knees can support my ass on a daily basis and then on days like today where I ran for a whole 10 minutes - I was amazed once again because they didn't completely split into two.

AMAZING. There are bodies, faces and minds that I appreciate - Here are a few celebrity crushes I have

Lenny Kravitz - Love the short hair now.

My very first celebrity crush - John Taylor, Duran Duran. I have to say this picture kind of grosses me out because his chest hair is exposed and that is a total turn off for me.

Oh, handsome devil. Classic, charming has a home in Europe and is well-read.

Doesn't get much better than this -

Day Two of South Beach or why I love bread

I love bread and right now - I'm going through some BADASS withdrawals. WHOA. I mean - I'm jones-ing for some bread in a serious way.

Today was good, I didn't realize how often I eat out of boredom. Throughout the day, I found myself saying "Are you hungry because you are physically hungry or are you hungry because you are bored. More than not, it was the latter.

I was struggling with dinner, called Jules who was also struggling with the thought of eating our prescribed dinner. During my phone call to Duane, I even said (non-chalantly, of course) I could just swing by Islands and pick up some burgers. He was supportive and reminded me that we had chicken defrosting. Thanks hun, thanks a bunch.

I had a good twenty minute daydream of me eating bread and schmearing my favorite butter all over it. AB would be proud, it was a total food porn moment, complete with cheesey - bow- chick- a- bow-m-wow music and all.

While I was making (and dreading) dinner. I had the brilliance to remember that I had not eaten my laughing cow cheese earlier and took bites of it along with the mixed greens. Seriously fantastic combo with the balsamic vinegrette, mixed greens made laughing cow light garlic herb cheese - almost taste like goat cheese. One of the few goat products I enjoy.

I hate Celery

Day one of SB diet.

Everything has been relatively ok until my mid-afternoon snack of celery (YUCK). The only place I like celery is during Thanksgiving in my stuffing, finely chopped.

The biggest challenges have been:

1) Smelling co-workers monster tacos + french fries from Jack in the Box and not wanting to lick the wrapper,

2). Not eating doughnuts that were brought into work Tuesday morning,

3) Trying not to emotional eat after receiving some really bad news.

Dinner was scrum-didly-umptios last night and consisted of: Salmon, asparagus and a mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette.

Exercise = 40 minutes on the treadmill and 40 sit-ups.

On the mill

Tonight, I did40 minutes on the treadmill. Ten more than last night, all the time watching Tori and Dean - Home Sweet Hollywood. I'm hooked on that stupid show.

We had chicken, cous-cous and spinich for dinner. I have not a had a glass of wine since Saturday and getting much accomplished. Amazing how that works.

Ok, hopping in the shower.

Let's see how the legs feel tomorrow.

GOAL - to work up to 60 minutes. Taking tomorrow night off to help a friend assemble her wedding invites and then back at it Thursday for 50 minutes and hopefully hitting 60 on Friday.

Headed for South Beach

The diet that is... not Florida.

I had another day of chicken breast, tomato, avocado and approximately 14 crackers for lunch. Honestly, I could eat avocado's all day long.

Sadly, SBD does not allow you to eat fruit for the first two weeks. Buh-bye Avo's, see you in a few weeks.

I did hop on the treadmill last night and did 30 minutes, burned a whopping 113 calories and did intervals of running and walking.

Allright... I get it

I weighed myself the other morning and nearly had heart attack as I read the numbers . My number is moving, just not in the right direction.

Duane's business partner and his wife have both done the South Beach diet and Jules and I are going to give it a whirl. Wish us luck.

Today for lunch I brought to work a 6 oz. Teriyaki chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and an avocado. Yes, I ate an entire avocado and I could eat those daily if I was organized. I pulled the bag of romaine out of the fridge - here at work and cursed the people that use our community fridge as I walked to the cafe to purchase new romaine as mine had been pushed to the back and completely frozen. While I was at the cafe, I ordered a side of ranch. I returned to my desk and spilled every last drop. Ok, I get it.... It wasn't in the cards.

This is why I don't like to eat healthy. Small occurrences like this are enough to make me get in the car and drive to In & Out Burger.

Get off of the couch...fatass

This is what I'm telling myself...

I just got invited to a birthday party where there is a 99.9% chance that an X will be there. I guess I shouldn't have eaten the BLT and fries with ranch dressing for lunch and crab legs drenched in melted butter and a 1/2 a loaf of hot, steamy, sourdough bread for dinner tonight.

F-U-C-K! I feel so fat and August 9th is right around the corner.

On the mill

Logging 25 minutes of walking and running for today.

Exercise on an unscheduled day - whoa, watch out. I would love to say that my activity was the result of my new goals, not so much. I used it as a stress reliever and it won over the bottle of red wine calling my name.

And she's off....

Today was the day and without getting all Dr. Seuss I had my running shoes laced and was off on my way. Ok, that was enough. I hopped or rather stepped curiously on the treadmill and spent35 minutes, doing intervals. I probably should have waited one more day for this chest cold to end but... I didn't.

I have exercise induced asthma so it takes awhile for breathing to kick in. Once the breathing was good and the initial coughing stopped I was Ok. Though it felt like someone had attached a sack of potatoes to my ass and a watermelon to my stomach at times, I had a visual that I must look like Homer Simpson with tatas and a va-jay-jay.
That's probably not a healthy self body image. Work in progress, now I just need to remember that.

There was absolutely nothing on the TV at that time and while I used to run and read, I have my treadmill wedged between a couch and a sliding glass door and thought it was a bit early in the game to try any fancy moves.

Part of my routine will be to read a bit of this fine philosophical book by one of the running world's most well-known runner Dr. George Sheehan every night before I go to bed. Running, beside the positive effects, helps with my mental clarity and we all know I could use a bit of that right now.

The goal is to run on Wednesday's, Friday and Sunday's, for the next up and coming week.
